The Autumn walk

CryEngine 3, being one of the most powerful game engines on the planet attracted my attention when I watched some of the fantastically beautiful YouTube videos. This invigorated me to move from my previous engine, CryEngine 2 to CryEngine 3. Features that caught my attention in a glance was the Global illumination and the tessellation this beast had to offer.


This is a modified version of  a map I found on YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yutsoL7CKoo   I sincerely thank the map creator for the download and great job. My idea was to give it a bit more of an Autumn theme in the fresh light of dusk.

Below are some pictures form this map. The aspen tree models provided quite frankly amazing due to their tessellation and high polygon count.

One of favourite tree models  is that of the british oak. It is very highly detailed and from a distance gives an almost surreal look of eerie ambience especially when bathed in morning light.
